Royals Spring Training Report debuts Thursday on FOX Sports Kansas City

Gear up for the season (and warm up) with the Royals Spring Training Report, a 30-minute special, on FOX Sports Kansas City!

The show first airs this Thursday, February 28 at 10 p.m. on FOX Sports Kansas City.

The show includes:

· A one-on-one interview with new Royals ace James Shields

· An interview with GM Dayton Moore on the Royals new acquisitions

· Infielder Elliot Johnson – mic’d up for photo day

· A feature on the battle for the fifth spot in the rotation

Royals with six overall TV exposures this spring

The Kansas City Royals will appear on television six times during Spring Training, with telecasts on both FOX Sports Kansas City and MLB Network.

FOX Sports Kansas City, the exclusive local television home of Royals baseball, will air the March 25 game vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers and the March 27 contest vs. the Chicago Cubs, both from Surprise Stadium at 8 p.m. Central.  The spring telecasts kick off a schedule that features 142 Royals games on FOX Sports Kansas City, including the Opening Day contest on April 1 at the Chicago White Sox.  A complete list of FOX Sports Kansas City telecasts for the 2013 season is available at royals.com.

All MLB Network games will be carriage of local telecasts, including local announcers. The Royals March 25 and 27 contests, in addition the being telecast on FOX Sports Kansas City, will also be carried on MLB Network, but will be blacked out in the Kansas City market.

FOX Sports Kansas City to air Royals FanFest shows

FOX Sports Kansas City will air two shows produced from the 2013 Royals FanFest. They’ll feature interviews with Royals players, plus sights and sounds from the event.  Here’s a broadcast schedule (times Central, check your local listings):

FOX Sports Kansas City to televise Royals marathon on Christmas Eve

FOX Sports Kansas City will replay five of the best Royals games of 2012 in a marathon of Royals programming on Christmas Eve.

The 10 ½ hours of baseball will start Monday, Dec. 24 at 12:30 p.m. with a replay of Royals Rewind: Season Review, a 30-minute look at the 2012 season.

Replays of five of the most compelling games televised on FSKC in 2012 will start at 1 p.m. The full schedule and game descriptions are below. Each game will be condensed into a two-hour window.

The Royals Christmas Eve marathon will be available on FOX Sports Kansas City and FOX Sports Midwest in western and central Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.

3 p.m.           June 14, 2012: Brewers at Royals

                     Jarrod Dyson scores the game winner in a wild 9th to give the Royals the sweep.

5 p.m.           June 17, 2012: Royals at Cardinals

                     Billy Butler hits a pinch-hit homer to tie it in the 9th and the Royals win it in the 15th.

7 p.m.           Aug. 19, 2012: White Sox at Royals

                     Jeremy Guthrie carries a no-hit bid into the 7th.

9 p.m.           Aug. 28, 2012: Tigers at Royals

                     Royals score eight vs. Tigers ace Justin Verlander, and Mike Moustakas knocks in the go-ahead run in the 8th.

 

FOX Sports Kansas City to air Best of 2011

FOX Sports Kansas City will air a 30-minute show recapping the Royals awards winners and getting their thoughts on the 2012 season. Kansas City Royals: Best of 2011 will include interviews with Eric Hosmer, Dayton Moore, Bruce Chen, Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain, Johnny Giavotella and Ned Yost. The show premieres Sunday, Jan 22 at 9:30 p.m. on FSKC and replays several times.

Royals and FOX Sports Kansas City announce 2011 television schedule

The Royals and FOX Sports Kansas City today announced a 142-game television schedule for the 2011 season, featuring two exhibition games and 140 regular season games.  For the first time, all 140 regular season telecasts will be presented in High Definition.

The Royals and FOX Sports Kansas City are entering the fourth season of a long-term agreement in which FOX Sports Kansas City is the exclusive television home of Royals baseball.  The 140-game regular season television schedule features 67 road games and 73 from Kauffman Stadium.  Every game on FOX Sports Kansas City will be preceded by a 30-minute pre-game show, “Hy-Vee Royals Live,” and followed by the “Boulevard Royals Live” post-game show. 

FOX Sports Kansas City’s coverage of Royals baseball kicks off with a Spring Training telecast from Surprise, Ariz., on Friday, March 25, when the Royals host the World Series champion San Francisco Giants at 8:05 p.m. (CDT).  A second exhibition game will be broadcast on Monday, March 28, when the Royals host the Milwaukee Brewers in a 3:05 p.m. (CDT) start.  The Milwaukee contest will be re-aired in prime time.

FSKC will air Kansas City’s Opening Day contest on March 31 against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  A one-hour edition of the “Hy-Vee Royals Live” pre-game show will precede the game.  Opening Day, along with most other weekday afternoon games, will be replayed in prime time.

Two Royals FanFest shows to air on FOX Sports Kansas City

FOX Sports Kansas City will take fans inside the 2011 Royals FanFest with two TV specials and highlights on FOXSportsKansasCity.com. The first 30-minute Royals FanFest show will premiere Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Kansas City.

The TV specials will consist of one-on-one interviews with Royals players and highlights from the FanFest’s main stage, including a Q&A with general manager Dayton Moore.

Broadcast Auction set for July 27; additional items open for bid online now!

On Tuesday, FSKC viewers will have the opportunity to bid on eight unique ballpark experiences during the Royals/Twins game.  The auction begins at 6:30 p.m. during the Hy-Vee Royals LIVE pre-game show and continues throughout the game telecast.  All proceeds from the event will benefit Royals Charities.

Fans will have an opportunity to support Royals Charities by phoning in bids for unique experiences including batting lessons with Billy Butler or a grounds crew experience in which the winner will get to change a base during the game.  Most experiences include game tickets in the BATS Crown Club.

Fox Sports Kansas City to produce 138 of 140 broadcasts in HD

FOX Sports Kansas City and the Kansas City Royals today announced that FOX Sports Kansas City is scheduled to televise a team-record 138 regular season games in High Definition in 2010.

In addition, the Friday, April 2 Spring Training game between the Royals and Texas Rangers will be televised in HD.  All home telecasts from Kauffman Stadium will be produced in HD, including Opening Day on Monday, April 5.

HD programming begins 30 minutes before game time to include FOX Sports Kansas City’s pregame and postgame show, Royals Live.

Only two of FSKC’s 140 regular season telecasts – April 19 and 20 at Toronto – will not be produced in HD.  FOX Sports Kansas City produced 93 HD games last year and 88 in 2008, the first year of HD telecasts for Royals baseball.
