Social media members take part in first Digital Digest

DigitalDigest4.JPGThe Royals had their first Digital Digest on Thursday as FanFest opened with a Season Ticket Holder event. Seven social media enthusiasts interviewed General Manager Dayton Moore, Manager Ned Yost, first baseman Billy Butler and outfielder Jeff Francoeur.  Participants were able to ask anything they wanted – and we had excellent questions on topics from free agency and the draft to on-base percentage.

DigitalDigest2.JPGThe media group began posting their thoughts immediately on Twitter and shortly thereafter on their respective blogs and message boards.  You can read about their experiences on the websites listed below.  Thank you to all of our participants!  It was a great experience for the Royals and we hope it was for the bloggers as well!

FanFest photos: Pitchers (and catcher) take the stage

FanFest Day 2 002.jpgJason Kendall’s daughter had a birthday on Friday.  The new Royals backstop spent the day celebrating with his family, then caught an early Saturday flight to Kansas City for FanFest.  The plane almost diverted away from K.C. due to fog.  Jason arrived just in time for his first event, a Q&A on the main stage with the pitchers.  Zack Greinke fielded the most questions of the group.  He provided entertaining answers on everything from golf to his honeymoon to his interest in World of Warcraft. Let’s take a look at the event:

FanFest is full of fun activities for kids of all ages – batting cages, a speed pitch, a steal home challenge and a scaled down version of baseball activities for the toddlers.  Today there are hitting clinics with Royals alums and a baserunning session with Willie Wilson.  Kids 5 and under get in free, so come out to the Overland Park Convention Center on Saturday!  Let’s take a look at Friday’s happenings:
