Zack Greinke named A.L. Co-Player of the Week
Zack Greinke has been named the American League Co-Player of the Week. He shares the honor with Ian Kinsler of the Rangers. Zack was 2-0 with 14.0 shutout innings, including 19 strikeouts, in defeating both Cleveland and Texas. Greinke will start at Kauffman Stadium on Friday night with a streak of 34.0 consecutive shutout innings dating back to last year. Kinsler went 15-for-27 (.556) including a 6-hit game and cycle on Wednesday vs. Baltimore. Zack held Kinsler to a 1-for-4 night in Zack’s shutout of the Rangers on Saturday (the first shutout of Zack’s career).
