Royals Remember Kelsey Smith
You have probably already heard about the Royals players and coaches wearing light blue ribbons for Sunday’s game in memory of Kelsey Smith, the local young woman who was kidnapped and found dead last week. The decision to wear the ribbons was made after Manager Buddy Bell met with Kelsey’s relatives Sunday morning.
This morning, our team photographer sent over some pictures from yesterday’s game.
Tonight, there is a visitation for Kelsey from 7-9 p.m. at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection at 13720 Roe Ave. in Leawood. A memorial service will start at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. On behalf of the Royals family, our continued thoughts and prayers go out to Kelsey’s family at this time.

These pictures of the Royals wearing light blue ribbons on their wrists in honor of Kelsey Smith nearly made me cry.
There are good people in this world.
Thank you for your community unity. And thank you for remembering this bright, beautiful girl.
