From Japan to Kauffman Stadium

Remember the Christmas wish that Karla Martinez wanted to share with her son Nick? If you don’t, here’s a refresher from last December when Karla and Royals General Manager Dayton Moore posed for a picture during a Royals Speaker’s Bureau event at the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce meeting.

Now, seven months later, it's Nick who is posing with Dayton.

On leave from Southern Japan where he is serving in law enforcement with the U.S. Navy, Nick spent part of his recent time home at Kauffman Stadium, taking in batting practice and meeting GM Moore on Monday, July 2…he also got to watch the Royals post an exciting 3-2, extra-innings victory over Seattle - not a bad welcome home present for a lifelong Royals fan!

Pictured with Nick and Dayton is mom Karla and his dad, Marion. The meeting between Nick and Dayton had been in the works since Nick’s mom won Royals tickets at the Dayton-speaking event in December.
