Ned Yost media session: May 26, 2014

Prior to Monday’s game the Kansas City Royals activated Omar Infante from the disabled list and optioned reliever Casey Coleman to Triple-A Omaha. Meanwhile Danny Valencia tested out his sore left wrist and was unable to swing in the cage and manager Ned Yost said it would be 3-5 days before Valencia would be back in the lineup. Bruce Chen also threw a bullpen today without his back acting up and the Royals will continue to take his situation day-by-day.

Kansas City will honor military members with Armed Forces Night before today’s game and a lengthy pregame program will include members of the Royals, including Yost, delivering baseballs to members of each of the five military branches. “To salute the troops, it’s always an honor,” Yost said.

The first 10,000 fans at tonight’s game will receive a Royals camouflage jersey courtesy of Fox Sports Kansas City.
