Ned Yost media session, April 6, 2014

The Kansas City Royals look to complete their first series sweep of the season on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox. They will do so without third baseman Mike Moustakas and outfielder Nori Aoki in the starting lineup. Omar Infante will bat lead off for the first time this season, as Aoki has started the first five games of the year atop of the Royals’ order.

Danny Valencia and Justin Maxwell start for the first time in 2014 and manager Ned Yost says not to read too deep into the changes. Yost said Valencia and Maxwell are “everyday guys” that need to play to stay fresh but acknowledged with White Sox lefty Chris Sale on the hill that keeping fresh is “easier said than done.”

Yost did say pregame that Wade Davis and Aaron Crow will be unavailable Sunday and that there are a few guys in the bullpen that haven’t worked for a few days. He also said that he would check with Greg Holland, who has registered a save on Friday and Saturday, to see how he feels should a potential save situation present itself.
