Royals Game Preview: May 18 at Oakland

Some of Ervin Santana’s best work with the Angels came against Oakland as he compiled a 14-5 record and a 2.03 ERA in 26 outings (24 starts).   Santana takes the mound for KC in tonight’s 8:07 Central start.

Royals Trivia Fact:  Oakland’s coaching staff includes three former Royals players.   Manager Bob Melvin batted .314 in 32 games for the 1992 Royals, serving as the backup catcher to Mike Macfarlane.  Pitching coach Curt Young was also a member of the 1992 Royals.  Hitting coach Chili Davis slugged 30 home runs for the 1997 Royals.
