Royals Game Preview: September 7

The Royals have just two road trips left, with visits to each A.L. Central opponent.  The division tour kicks off tonight in Chicago with a 7:10 start.  Tonight’s game is on FOX Sports Kansas City and the Royals Radio Network.  (Saturday’s 3:05 start will be on the FOX Network.)  Here are the lineups:

Kansas City:

Cain – CF, Escobar – SS, Gordon – LF, Butler – DH, Perez – C, Moustakas – 3B, Francoeur – RF, Hosmer – 1B, Giavotella – 2B, Mendoza – RHP

Chicago:

Royals Trivia Fact:  KC’s pitching staff went over the 1,000 strikeout plateau on Thursday.  This is the seventh time that KC pitchers have recorded 1,000+ strikeouts in a season and the fifth straight year.  The other years:  1990, 1991, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.  The club record is 1,153 in 2009.
