FOX Sports Kansas City celebrates All-Star Week with Stars in KC marathon

FOX Sports Kansas City will televise more than 50 hours of baseball programming July 8-11 to celebrate All-Star Week in Kansas City.

The Stars in KC marathon features the 1973 All-Star Game highlight film, replays of the 1989 and 2011 All-Star Games, and other FOX Sports Kansas City and FSN baseball shows.

Stars in KC kicks into gear Sunday at 7 p.m. with the highlight film of the 1973 All-Star Game played at Royals Stadium, which featured 17 future Hall of Famers (and three Hall of Fame managers). Titled A New Generation of Stars: The 1973 All Star Game, the film was narrated by longtime baseball broadcaster Lindsey Nelson. It has a 1970s look and feel.

The 1989 All-Star Game, featuring Bo Jackson’s MVP performance, premieres Sunday at 7:30 p.m. It’s followed by a replay of the 2011 All-Star Game.

Also part of the Stars in KC lineup are replays of two of the most memorable Royals games of the first half of 2012: the June 14 walk-off win against Milwaukee, and the June 15 wild finish at St. Louis.

FOX Sports Kansas City is the television home of Royals baseball, airing 140 regular season games in 2012. The network will also bring fans online coverage of All-Star Week at FOXSportsKansasCity.com, Facebook.com/FOXSportsKansasCity and @FSKansasCity. The Stars in KC programming block will also air on FOX Sports Midwest.
