Homestand Highlights: May 3-9

The Royals return to Kauffman Stadium to host the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox during the club’s upcoming seven-game homestand, May 3-9.  The four-game series with the Yankees and three-game series with Boston will be the only visit to Kansas City for each club in 2012.

The homestand features a number of great giveaways and promotions, including Alex Gordon Rawlings Gold Glove Replicas, Mini Pine Tar Bats and the first T-Shirt Tuesday of the season. 

Thursday, May 3 – New York Yankees vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

·         Alex Gordon Rawlings Gold Glove Replica – The first 10,000 fans receive an Alex Gordon Rawlings Gold Glove Replica in honor of the club’s left fielder courtesy of Hy-Vee. (photo attached)

·         Frenchy Quarter Thursday – Be part of the newest fan section!  For select Thursday home game, fans will be able to purchase a $21 ticket that includes a Frenchy Quarter T-Shirt, blue Mardi Gras beads and a seat in Jeff Francoeur’s cheering section in the right Outfield Box.  This is a $35 value. 

Friday, May 4 – New York Yankees vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

·         MLB Network Bag – The first 20,000 fans receive an exclusive MLB Network drawstring bag courtesy of MLB Network. (photo attached)

·         Fireworks Friday – A spectacular fireworks show after every Friday home game, presented by Hy-Vee and Pepsi.

·         Royal Blue Balloting Day – The Royals host a Royal Blue Balloting Day in conjunction with the “Crown a Royal” campaign.  Fans are encouraged to vote for a chance to win great prizes, including the opportunity to represent all Royals fans as the first fan to enter MLB All-Star FanFest on Friday, July 6.  The first 200 fans to complete at least 100 ballots on Friday receive an All-Star balloting sticker and royal blue Mardi Gras beads.  Visit the official All-Star Balloting Station located at Gate E.  www.royals.com/vote

Saturday, May 5 – New York Yankees vs. Royals, 6:10 p.m.

·         Meet Hosmer at Kansas Sampler – First baseman Eric Hosmer will meet fans and sign autographs from 11 a.m. to noon at the Kansas Sampler, located at 9750 Quivira across from the Oak Park Mall in Lenexa, Kan.

·         Pine Tar Night – Celebrate one of the most memorable moments in club history on Pine Tar Night.  In honor of George Brett’s famous home run against the Yankees, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Mini Pine Tar Bat courtesy of The University of Kansas Hospital. (photo attached)

·         610 Saturday – Enjoy great activities and live music from the Mikey Needleman Band prior to the game in the Outfield Experience.  www.royals.com/610saturdays.

·         Health Awareness Day: Strike Out Stroke –The University of Kansas Hospital will address the importance of identifying and treating stroke symptoms by distributing stroke prevention information cards at the gates and sponsoring a special CrownVision message.

Sunday, May 6 – New York Yankees vs. Royals, 1:10 p.m.

·         Family FunDay Sunday – Each Sunday home game features face painters, caricature and balloon artists and live family-friendly entertainment in the Outfield Experience courtesy of Radio Disney.  All-Day Play Passes for unlimited activities in the Outfield Experience are available for just $10.  www.royals.com/sunday

·         Fun Run presented by Sprint – All fans can run the bases after the game (conditions permitting).

Monday, May 7 – Boston Red Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

·         Value Monday – All Hy-Vee Level tickets, excluding Hy-Vee Box, are just $7 courtesy of Hy-Vee.

·         Tourism and Hospitality Night at The K – The first 10,000 fans will receive an Attractions Pack courtesy of the Greater Kansas City Attractions Association filled with valuable offers totaling more than $300 for attractions all over town.  In addition to in-game prize giveaways, fans can head out to the Outfield Experience to visit various booths and activities regarding area travel and events.

Tuesday, May 8 – Boston Red Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

·         T-Shirt Tuesday – The first 10,000 get a special Our Time t-shirt courtesy of Teva.  (photo attached)

·         Nurse Appreciation Night – Area nurses can purchase a Field Plaza ticket for just $10 as part of Nurse Appreciation Night at the ballpark presented by Teva.  www.royals.com/teva

Wednesday, May 9 – Boston Red Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

INK Student Night – Rivals Outfield Box or Hy-Vee Infield tickets are available for all Wednesday home games for high school and college students with valid ID at the Kauffman Stadium Box Office for just $7.  Seating is subject to availability.  All Student Nights include a $7 hot dog and beverage special at the Boulevard Grill in the Outfield Experience. 
INK Local Music Showcase – Catch a free pregame concert on us.  Every Wednesday INK Student Night also features live local music prior to the game in the Outfield Experience.  The Grisly Hand will be performing prior to the Red Sox-Royals game.  For details, visit www.royals.com/studentnight.
