Gloves for kids set for September 19

On Monday, September 19, fans will have the chance to help provide baseball equipment for Kansas City’s disadvantaged youth at a special Gloves For Kids event.

The Kansas City Royals and FOX Sports Kansas City’s Ryan Lefebvre will host the event, which will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Kansas Sampler, located at 9750 Quivira across from the Oak Park Mall in Lenexa, Kan. 

Select Royals players will sign autographs for fans who donate at least $25 toward new baseball gloves and other baseball/softball equipment for underprivileged youth. 

Royals players scheduled to appear include:

Pitcher Nate Adcock

Pitcher Louis Coleman

Pitcher Tim Collins

Pitcher Aaron Crow

Pitcher Danny Duffy

Second Baseman Johnny Giavotella

First Baseman Eric Hosmer

Pitcher Everett Teaford

One group of players will sign from 6-7 p.m. with the other group to follow from 7-8 p.m.  Please note that a $25 donation is required for each session, and fans will be allowed to have one item autographed by each Royals player participating in that session.  For details, visit

The event will also include a silent auction featuring unique Royals memorabilia.  In addition, 610 Sports Radio, the home of the Royals, will be broadcasting live from Kansas Sampler from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Created in 2001 by Lefebvre’s Footprints Foundation, the Gloves For Kids event has raised more than $75,000 to provide new baseball gloves and related equipment for Kansas City area youth.
