Homestand Highlights: September 13-21

The Royals wrap up the home portion of the 2011 season with an eight-game homestand, September 13-21, against three division rivals.

As a thank you to fans for their tremendous support during the 2011 campaign, the Royals have a number of fun promotions and special events planned for the final homestand.  Highlights include the final T-Shirt Tuesday giveaway, the annual Futures Night festivities, a Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day celebration, Fan Appreciation Night presented by Sprint, the popular Bark at The K event and more!                                  

Tuesday, September 13 – Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

·         T-Shirt Tuesday – The first 10,000 fans receive an exclusive long-sleeve t-shirt featuring a powder blue “KC” logo presented by FOX Sports Kansas City. For details, visit www.royals.com/tshirttuesday.                         

Wednesday, September 14 – Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 3:10 p.m.

INK Student “Night” – Rivals Outfield Box or Hy-Vee Infield tickets are available for all Wednesday home games for high school and college students with valid ID at the Kauffman Stadium Box Office for just $7.  Seating is subject to availability.  All Student Nights feature live local music prior to the game in the Outfield Experience and include a $7 hot dog and beverage special at the Crown Classic concession stand in the Outfield Experience prior to the game.  For details, visit www.royals.com/studentnight.
INK Local Music Showcase – Catch a free pregame concert on us.  With support from 96.5 The Buzz, every Wednesday INK Student Night features live local music prior to the game in the Outfield Experience.  Roman Numerals will be performing prior to the Twins-Royals game.  For details, visit www.royals.com/studentnight.                             

Thursday, September 15 – Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

Friday, September 16 – Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

·         Futures Night – The Royals salute the Pitchers and Players of the Year from each minor league affiliate prior to the game.  A majority of the players are expected to participate in an autograph session from 5:30-6:15 p.m. at Gate A near the Royals Hall of Fame before receiving their awards in a special pregame ceremony.

·         Frenchy Quarter Friday – Cheer on fan-favorite Jeff Francoeur from some of the best seats in the house at a discounted rate through this special promotion.  Fans may purchase Rivals Outfield Box Seats for just $21 – a savings of nearly 20 percent – in honor of #21.  For details, visit www.royals.com/frenchy.

·         Hy-Vee/Pepsi Fireworks Fridays – A spectacular fireworks show after every Friday home game.

Saturday, September 17 – Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 6:10 p.m.

·         Fan Appreciation Night presented by Sprint – The Royals reward fans for their tremendous support throughout the season with prize giveaways throughout the game.  All fans in attendance have a chance to win autographed memorabilia, tickets to the club’s 2012 home opener, Crown Seats and a Dugout Suite for a 2012 home game, gift certificates to MLB.com’s online shop, Hy-Vee, Fogo de Chao and Sonic as well as gifts from Miller, Commerce Bank, Sprint, Budweiser and U.S. Toy.

Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day/Green KC Cap: The first 20,000 fans receive a special green KC cap presented by Commerce Bank  in conjunction with the club’s Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day celebration, which begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Outfield Experience.  The event will feature live Irish music from Flannigan’s Right Hook, green draft beer and a sample of some of KC’s best local Irish vendors.  In conjunction with the club’s 610 Saturday promotion, there will be entertainment for all ages, including face painters, Irish dancers and much more!  www.royals.com/irish.
Guinness Book of World Records Massage Event:  In addition, the Royals and Massage Envy/Massage Envy Spa are partnering to make a run at a Guinness Book of World Records massage record prior to the game.  The record-breaking attempt for “Most People Being Massaged” will take place at 5:45 p.m. at the U.S. Toy Little K, and the Royals and Massage Envy are looking for 500 fans to participate.  The club is offering an exclusive $25 ticket package that includes a yoga mat, the opportunity to participate in the massage record experience, and a Hy-Vee View Level ticket for the game.  In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the ticket package will go to the local Arthritis Foundation chapter.  For more information or to purchase a ticket package, visit www.royals.com/massageenvy.
·         Shirts Off Their Backs – In conjunction with Fan Appreciation Night, Royals Charities will host its annual Shirts Off Their Backs fundraiser presented by Mission Foods to benefit the Shirley Fund, a women’s heart health program through The University of Kansas Hospital.  Through this unique event, volunteers will sell $1 instant-win scratch tickets with winners receiving an autographed jersey right off the back of their favorite Royals player on the field following the game.

·         College Fair at The K – The Royals and 15 area colleges and universities – including Kansas State University, the University of Iowa, Northwest Missouri State University, the University of Central Missouri and Columbia College – are partnering for the College Fair at The K from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Diamond Club.  High school students may purchase tickets to attend this exciting event and that evening’s game.  Please note that each ticket purchased will allow students to bring one parent/adult to the college fair only at no additional charge.  For a complete list of participating schools and to purchase tickets, please visit www.royals.com/collegefair.

Sunday, September 18 – Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 1:10 p.m.
