Photos: Armed Forces Day

Saturday’s game is Armed Forces Day, with several special tributes to the military.  The game is being televised live to troops in Afghanistan.

Here are a few pictures from tonight’s pregame:

Staff Sergeant Daniel Gilyeat threw out the ceremonial first pitch.  He is a recipient of two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star.  Gilyeat lost his leg in combat while serving in Iraq.  He continues to work with disabled veterans through Operation Payback and the Wounded Warriors project.  Outfielder Jeff Francoeur caught Sgt. Gilyeat’s first pitch.

Tonight’s flyover was provided by four T-38’s from Whiteman Air Force Base.
