Fans vote KC Ribeye Stack as Kauffman Stadium’s favorite signature sandwich

The 2011 MLB season may be only half over, but the KC Ribeye Stack Sandwich is already a winner.
With 63 percent* of votes, fans chose the char-grilled ribeye sandwich, topped with cheddar cheese, applewood bacon, sautéed mushrooms, a crispy onion ring, lettuce, tomato and onion with Kansas City smoky and Gold barbecue sauces on a fresh potato bun, over the Royal Pork T, a crispy pork tenderloin, topped with caramelized onions, fried pickle chips and Kansas City barbecue sauce, to become the featured signature sandwich at Hot Corner Grill concession stands throughout Kauffman Stadium.

During the first half of the season, the Royals and ARAMARK – the club’s exclusive food and beverage partner – asked fans to vote for their favorite new sandwich from the two finalists.

The Royal Pork T sandwich, also popular among Royals fans, earned itself a permanent position on the roster and will also remain on the menu through the 2011 season.
