Eric Hosmer meets with Pitch, Hit and Run winners

Earlier today, first baseman Eric Hosmer met with youth who were competing in a Pitch, Hit & Run competition at Kauffman Stadium.

Hosmer was a National Finalist in 1998 – when the program was titled Diamond Skills – and is the first Pitch, Hit & Run National Finalist to compete at the Major League level.

Following the Pitch, Hit and Run awards ceremony, Hosmer went upstairs to the Royals Team Store to find more than 350 fans on hand.

Some fans started lining up at 5:00 a.m. in order to meet Eric!

My son, Brett, came in 3rd place at U.S. Cellular Field 4 years ago. It was a great experience for him. It was very special, as a dad, to watch him perform on a major league diamond. Great memories!

Congrats, to all of the 2011 winners!

I love that guy! what a quality kid.
