Thursday lineup vs. Texas, roster moves
The Royals host Texas tonight at 7:10. Kansas City made the following roster moves on Thursday:
- Right-handed pitcher Greg Holland was recalled from Triple-A Omaha. Holland was 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA and two saves in 13 games for the Storm Chasers. He posted 27 K’s in 21.2 IP while limiting opponents to a .176 batting average.
- Right-handed pitcher Robinson Tejeda was activated from the 15-day D.L. (right shoulder inflammation). Tejeda made five rehab appearances with Omaha, allowing one unearned run in 6.0 innings.
- Outfielder Jarrod Dyson was optioned to Omaha. The speedy Dyson was used primarily as a pinch-runner, getting just 24 at bats, but stealing nine bases during his stint with KC.
- Pitcher Jeremy Jeffress was also optioned to Omaha. The right-handed reliever was 1-1 with a 4.70 ERA in 14 outings with Kansas City.
Here’s the lineup:
(Gordon – LF), (Cabrera – CF), (Hosmer – 1B), (Francoeur – RF), (Butler – DH), (Betemit – 3B), (Aviles – 2B), (Treanor – C), (Escobar – SS), (Hochevar – P)

Pretty cool to see Alex leading off, he does know how to get on base. Hopefully the guys behind him can knock him in!
