Thursday lineup and a roster move
The Royals and Indians conclude their series at Kauffman Stadium tonight. First pitch is set for 7:10. Earlier today, the Royals selected the contract of right-handed reliever Louis Coleman from Omaha. Kanekoa Texeira was optioned to Omaha.
The 25-year old Coleman was 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA and two saves in six outings for the Storm Chasers. He held batters to a .167 average while striking out 16 in 7.0 innings pitched, including five K’s over 2.0 shutout frames in his last outing on Monday vs. Nashville.
The Mississippi native was selected by KC in the 5th round of the 2009 June Free Agent Draft out of LSU, where he was the 2009 SEC Pitcher of the Year. Coleman, a starter in college, led the Tigers to the College World Series and was on the mound in the championship win over Texas.
