Mike, Sara and their daughter Elica are a military family stationed in Turkey. They sent us pictures of a recent trip in which they visited seven ancient cities in Western Turkey.
Mike and Sara are originally from Springfield, Mo., and Mike is a long-time Royals fan. Their assignment in Turkey ends just in time for them to catch a home game this spring. They’ll then be moving to a new assignment near Los Angeles, where they plan to watch the Royals and Angels later this year.
Jeremy, originally from K.C., moved to Chicago in 2005. He wore his Alex Gordon jersey as he checked out the view from the top of Masada, a mountain fortress in Israel. The Negev Desert is behind Jeremy in the photo.
Thank you to Mike and Jeremy for sending in photos!

The Royals won 4-3 over the Padres on Tuesday, with Mike Moustakas driving in Lorenzo Cain for the go-ahead tally in the eighth. Cain later made an outstanding diving catch in the outfield, which he turned into a double play to end the game.
Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers starts at 2:05 Central on 610 Sports. The game will air, tape-delayed, tonight at 8:00 Central on MLB Network.
Let’s look at a few photos: George Brett exchanged lineup cards with his former teammate, Bud Black.
Clint Robinson had a big day, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. This triple in third put K.C. on the board.
Aaron Crow followed Hochevar with two innings of work.
Kyle Davies and Johnny Giavotella were all smiles in the dugout.
Here’s an opportunity to watch baseball and volunteer at the same time! The Royals are looking for service organizations that are interested in being a part of the Royals Green Team presented by Allied Waste. The Royals Green Team is comprised of volunteers and game day staff who collect plastic cups and bottles during the “Green Stretch” in the eighth inning. Green Team volunteers will also collect cups and bottles during an additional two innings of the game and encourage stadium guests to recycle.
Volunteers receive a free Royals ticket, parking and a T-shirt. 10-12 volunteers are needed for each game. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. For more information about the Royals Green Team, please contact Renee VanLaningham (email@example.com).
