Royals make four moves to set Opening Day 25-man roster

 The Royals have announced today that the club has placed catcher Jason Kendall on the 15-day D.L., retroactive to March 22, as he continues his rehab from right shoulder surgery.  The Royals selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Tim Collins.  In addition, the club has designated for assignment catcher Lucas May and outrighted outfielder Gregor Blanco to Omaha (AAA).  Following the moves, the Royals have set the Opening Day 25-man roster and have 39 players on the Major League 40-man roster.

 The Opening Day 25-man Major League roster is as follows:

Pitchers (12): Nate Adcock, Bruce Chen (L), Tim Collins (L), Aaron Crow, Kyle Davies, Jeff Francis (L), Luke Hochevar, Jeremy Jeffress, Sean O’Sullivan, Joakim Soria, Robinson Tejeda, Kanekoa Texeira.

                Catchers (2): Brayan Pena (S), Matt Treanor.

                Infielders (6): Mike Aviles, Wilson Betemit (S), Billy Butler, Alcides Escobar, Chris Getz (L), Kila Ka’aihue (L).

                Outfielders (5): Melky Cabrera (S), Jarrod Dyson (L), Jeff Francoeur, Alex Gordon (L), Mitch Maier (L).

                Disabled List: RHP-Henry Barrera (60-day), C-Jason Kendall (15-day).
