Special traffic instructions for fans attending Opening Day
If you’ve driven past Kauffman Stadium on I-70 recently, you may have noticed road work and construction on a new George Brett Bridge.
While the new bridge is scheduled to be open on March 31, other construction will still be taking place at the start of the baseball season. For Opening Day, we encourage you to ARRIVE EARLY (the first pitch is scheduled for 3:10). Here are special directions to Kauffman Stadium, based on possible construction delays.
COMING FROM THE EAST
1. Head into Kansas City on Interstate 70
2. Take Exit #9 – Blue Ridge Cutoff/Sports Complex
COMING FROM THE WEST
1. Head into Kansas City on Interstate 70
2. Take Exit #7B – Manchester Trafficway, turn left and proceed to Gate 5 (suggested route during Blue Ridge Cutoff construction)
3. OR Take Exit #9 – Blue Ridge Cutoff/Sports Complex (possible delays due to construction)
COMING FROM THE SOUTH
1. Head into Kansas City on Interstate 435
2. Take Exit #63 C – Raytown Road/Stadium Drive, Sports Complex exit
COMING FROM THE NORTH
1. Head into Kansas City on Interstate 435
2. Take Exit #63 B (left exit) – I 70 East/Sports Complex exit
3. OR Take Exit# 63 A – I 70 West, then take Exit #7B – Manchester Trafficway, turn left and proceed to Gate 5
