Photos: A look at a Spring Training bus trip
Many details and logistics go in to each day of Spring Training. Take today, for instance – the Royals have a home game at 2:05 Central (listen on royals.com) and a road game at 8:05 Central (listen on 610 Sports). The clubhouse team will have the jerseys and equipment ready for both games. Let’s take a look at one of the many behind-the-scenes details, a spring bus trip.
Starting pitcher Luke Hochevar loads his bag onto the bus.
Catching prospects Manny Pina and Salvador Perez were ready for the trip to Glendale.
Mike Moustakas had his glove and hat in hand and his stirrups up high.
Here’s a look at the nearly-full bus, which is almost ready to depart. The team is in uniform as they’ll be taking the field for warmups and batting practice shortly upon arrival at Camelback Ranch.
Bus driver Jim White has been transporting the Royals to spring road contests since 2004.
Jim is at the wheel and ready to roll, with manager Ned Yost in the first passenger seat.
And the Boys in Blue are on their way to Glendale for a matchup with the White Sox!
