Royals and pitcher Bryan Bullington reach agreement with Hiroshima Toyo Carp

The Royals have announced today that the club has requested Unconditional Release Waivers on right-handed pitcher Bryan Bullington for the purpose of allowing him to sign a professional baseball contract with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of the Central League in Japan.

Bullington, 30, was designated for assignment by the Royals on November 19.  The 6-foot-6 right hander was 1-4 with a 6.12 ERA in 13 appearances, including five starts, for Kansas City in 2010.  He was also named Omaha (AAA) Pitcher of the Year after compiling an 8-2 mark with a 2.82 ERA in 20 games (15 starts).
