Royals Coat Drive set for September 17-18; Aramark offers discount to fans who donate
The Kansas City Royals will host the seventh annual Royals Coat Drive on September 17-18 at Kauffman Stadium. The drive will benefit the Johnson County Christmas Bureau.
Royals Wives and community volunteers will collect new and gently used coats on Friday, September 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. outside of the Diamond Club and inside Hy-Vee Gate B. On Saturday, fans can drop off the donated items in the Outfield Experience or inside Hy-Vee Gate B from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The groups will be accepting both new and gently worn coats that are clean and in good condition. Coats of all sizes – adults, boys, girls, toddlers and infants – are welcome.
Items collected will be distributed to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau to help needy residents of the Kansas City area stay warm during the winter months. The Johnson County Christmas Bureau is a volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization and a United Way agency that provides necessary assistance to low-income families of Johnson County, Kansas.
In support of the Royals Coat Drive, Aramark – the official concessionaire of Kauffman Stadium – will provide every fan who donates a coat at Kauffman Stadium on September 17 or 18 with a Majestic Team Store discount coupon. The coupon, which will be distributed at the Coat Drive collection sites during the designated collection times, is limited to one per person for each game and may be redeemed for 20 percent off one regularly-priced item sold at the Majestic Team Store or any other Kauffman Stadium merchandise location. Coupons must be redeemed by September 18.
