Homestand Highlights: July 26 – August 1

After a brief four-game road trip to New York, the Royals return home for a seven-game homestand beginning Monday, July 26.  The Royals host the Minnesota Twins in a three-game series, July 26-28, before the Baltimore Orioles make their only trip of the season to Kansas City for a four-game set, July 29-August 1.  

Monday, July 26 – Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

         Royals Charities Broadcast Auction – Royals Charities and Fox Sports Kansas City partner for a special on-air auction, giving viewers the opportunity to bid on unique ballpark experiences or purchase an exclusive Royals ticket package.  www.royals.com/broadcastauction

Thursday, July 29 – Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

         Buck Night – Hot dogs, small Pepsi products, peanuts, Twinkies, Gameday Magazines and scorecards for just $1 each all night long.  www.royals.com/fanvalue.

         Hair Band Night – Brush up on your Van Halen and break out your bandanas for Hair Band Night!  The event includes music from 98.9 The Rock, a trivia contest beginning at 6:15 p.m., and a costume contest at 6:50 p.m.  All events will take place at the Main Stage located in the Outfield Experience.  www.royals.com/hairbandnight.

         Youth Night – Hy-Vee Infield seats are just $3 for youth 14 and under at the Kauffman Stadium Box Office.  There is a limit to three discounted tickets for every one regularly priced ticket for the same game.  www.royals.com/fanvalue

Friday, July 30 – Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

         Hy-Vee/Pepsi Fireworks Fridays – A spectacular fireworks show after every Friday home game.

Saturday, July 31 – Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 6:10 p.m.

** Note: Gates A&E in the Outfield Experience will open early at 3:00 p.m.  All gates will open at 4:30 p.m.

         Salute to the Negro Leagues – The Royals and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum pay tribute to Kansas City’s rich baseball tradition with this annual salute.  A pregame party presented by Hy-Vee and Pepsi, featuring $1 Farmland hot dogs and Pepsi products, will take place near the All-Star Barbeque in right field beginning at 3:00 p.m.  All proceeds benefit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.  Fans are invited to visit with former Negro Leagues players during an autograph session from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The group will then be recognized during pregame ceremonies.

On the field, both teams don Negro League uniforms provided by Sprint with the Royals wearing the 1949 Kansas City Monarchs home uniforms and the Orioles wearing the Baltimore Elite Giants road uniforms from the early 1950s.  Following the game, the game-worn uniforms will be donated to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. www.royals.com/negroleagues

         Monarchs Cap – The first 20,000 fans receive a replica Monarchs cap courtesy of Pepsi.  

         610 Saturday – Enjoy great food, live music from Marty Wall and activities for fans of all ages prior to the game in the Outfield Experience.  www.royals.com/610saturday.

 

Sunday, Aug. 1 – Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 1:10 p.m.

         Fun Run presented by Sprint.  All fans can run the bases after the game (conditions permitting).

TRAFFIC REMINDER:  The Royals would like to remind fans that Stadium Drive is currently closed at Raytown Road.  To access parking on the west side of Kauffman Stadium, fans may proceed on Raytown Road past Stadium Drive and will be able to enter the Truman Sports Complex through Gate 5.  To access parking on the east side of Kauffman Stadium, fans may continue on Raytown Road approximately one mile past Gate 5 and enter the complex through Gate 4.
