DeJesus to undergo surgery
David DeJesus will undergo surgery on Monday to repair a complete tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb. He suffered the injury last night while attempting to make a catch on a ball hit by New York’s Derek Jeter. The recovery time is a minimum of 10 weeks.
David’s .318 average on the year is his highest since he joined KC in 2003. DeJesus extended his record of errorless games by a KC outfielder to 241 last night, which is well ahead of the old record of 165 by Amos Otis. We wish David the best in his recovery!
