Homestand Highlights: July 16-21

The Royals return from the All-Star break by welcoming the Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays to Kauffman Stadium for a six-game homestand.  The Royals host the A’s in a three-game weekend series, July 16-18, before the Blue Jays make their only trip of the season to Kansas City for a three-game set, July 19-21.

 Friday, July 16 – Oakland A’s vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

·         Buck Night – Hot dogs, small Pepsi products, peanuts, Twinkies, Gameday Magazines and scorecards for just $1 each all night long.  www.royals.com/fanvalue.

·         Hy-Vee/Pepsi Fireworks Fridays – A spectacular fireworks show after every Friday home game.

·         Sheamus Visits The K – Current WWE Champion Sheamus will visit Kauffman Stadium in advance of the WWE’s “Money in the Bank” event at Sprint Center on Sunday, July 18.  Sheamus will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and be featured during the game on CrownVision.

·         Kansas City A’s Salute – The Royals will salute the Kansas City A’s with a video retrospective throughout the evening.  In salute to Charlie O., the famous Missouri mule which Finley anointed as the team mascot while in Kansas City, fans will have an opportunity to take their photo with a Missouri mule behind Rivals Sports Bar.  Visit www.royals.com/kcathletics for more information.

·         Retro KC Cap – The first 20,000 fans will receive a royal blue retro KC cap courtesy of Hy-Vee.  The cap features in interlocking KC logo that was used by the A’s in Kansas City prior to moving to Oakland with the Royals color scheme.   

·         610 Saturday – Enjoy great food, live music from County Road 5, courtesy of 106.5 The Wolf, and activities for fans of all ages prior to the game in the Outfield Experience.  www.royals.com/610saturday.

·         Ride to The K – The Harley-Davidson Employee Rider Association and the Royals welcome all riders, riding clubs and motorcycle enthusiasts to take part in Ride to The K and help support those in need.  All ticket purchases, which must be made in advance, include a commemorative Ride to The K patch, donation to City Union Mission, and access to a pregame tailgate beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Lot L.  All motorcycles can enter and park for FREE through Gate 3 (on the southeast side of the Stadium) off of Blue Ridge Cutoff. www.royals.com/ride.

·         Billy Butler Youth Replica Bat presented by Fox Sports Kansas City to the first 8,000 fans 14 and under.

TRAFFIC REMINDER:  The Royals would like to remind fans that Stadium Drive is currently closed at Raytown Road.  To access parking on the west side of Kauffman Stadium, fans may proceed on Raytown Road past Stadium Drive and will be able to enter the Truman Sports Complex through Gate 5.  To access parking on the east side of Kauffman Stadium, fans may continue on Raytown Road approximately one mile past Gate 5 and enter the complex through Gate 4.
