Commissioner Bud Selig awarded the 2012 Major League Baseball All-Star Game to Kansas City today during an on-field presentation at Kauffman Stadium.
A sign reading “Home of the 2012 All-Star Game” was unveiled during the ceremony.
Afterwards, ATH attended Selig’s press conference. He talked about his affinity for Kansas City and described it as a wonderful baseball city. He walked the renovated Kauffman Stadium today and was quite impressed. Selig believes that the All-Star Game will be great for Kansas City and the region.
The game is tentatively scheduled for July 10, 2012.
