A behind-the-scenes look at Spring Training

Today we take a look at just a few of the behind-the-scenes details from Spring Training.

When it comes to bats, every player has a preference.  Here, hitting coach Kevin Seitzer speaks with a sporting goods representative about a wide array of options.

Manager Trey Hillman holds regular interview sessions with the media throughout Spring Training.  Next to Trey is Mike Swanson, Vice President of Communications and Broadcasting (in sunglasses, partially hidden).  Swanee oversees the session while Dave Holtzman, Director of Media Relations (on the left in the Royals jacket), records footage that you’ll be able to view on royals.com.

The media relations team is also responsible for setting up one-on-one interviews.  This picture shows Joel Goldberg interviewing Hall of Famer George Brett for a feature that will be on the Fox Sports Kansas City website.

All of this is happening in close proximity to the practice fields, where Cy Young winner Zack Greinke and his teammates were stretching for the morning workout.
