Royals help open Holiday Shop at Johnson County Christmas Bureau
Last Friday, the Royals were on hand as the Johnson County Christmas Bureau opened their annual Holiday Shop. The JCCB is a volunteer, non-profit organization that serves nearly 2,600 low-income families each year. Third baseman Alex Gordon and his wife Jamie joined a team of Royals associates, led by Kevin Uhlich, Senior Vice President of Business Operations.
Associates were matched with shoppers, who picked out clothing, food and holiday gifts. Coats donated to the Royals Coat Drive in September were among the items distributed.
Uhlich assisted shoppers in the personal care section while Alex and Jamie helped in the toys section. Bicycles were a popular item and we spotted Alex rolling (and riding) bikes out to the shopper’s cars. He was asked to autograph a few of the new wheels.
Check back later for pictures of Gordon’s Saturday community visit in Overland Park.
