Royals to visit Fort Leavenworth and Lawrence on Wednesday
The Royals will salute members of the military and their families at Fort Leavenworth as well as greet fans in Lawrence, Kan., on Wednesday, December 2.
Royals Hall of Fame second baseman Frank White, Royals Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Leonard and Royals outfielder David DeJesus will tour Fort Leavenworth prior to meeting families of deployed soldiers and presenting a Royals Charities donation of $25,000 to the Garrison Commander, COL Wayne Green. The donation will be used in support of military families of deployed Service members.
Following the visit to Fort Leavenworth, the Royals will travel to Lawrence, Kan., where they will meet fans from 5:15-6 p.m. at Sunflower Broadband offices, located at 1 Riverfront Plaza. The group will then attend the 7 p.m. Alcorn State vs. University of Kansas men’s basketball game at Allen Fieldhouse on the KU Campus.
A tentative schedule is listed below:
2:30 – 3:00 p.m. – Tour Fort Leavenworth
3:00 – 4:00 p.m. - Visit members of the military and their families stationed at Fort Leavenworth
4:00 p.m. – Present check to Ft. Leavenworth Garrison Commander, COL Wayne Green, at the Frontier Conference Center at Ft. Leavenworth
5:15-6 p.m. – Meet and Greet at Sunflower Broadband – Lawrence, KS (Hosted by Fox Sports Kansas City)
7 p.m. - Attend the Alcorn State vs. University of Kansas men’s basketball game
