ROYALS COME TO TERMS WITH CROW
It’s official! The Royals just announced that they have reached an agreement with first-round draft choice Aaron Crow, the 12th overall selection in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. The agreement covers a three-year Major League contract, beginning in 2010. Consistent with team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Crow, a native of Wakarusa, Kan. and a graduate of Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, was the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and a Golden Spikes Award finalist in 2008 after going 13-0 with a 2.35 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 15 starts for the University of Missouri. Crow has pitched in each of the last two seasons for the Fort Worth Cats of the independent American Association. This season, Crow won all three of his starts, posting a 1.06 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 17.0 IP with the Cats.
Aaron’s formal introduction to the club will take place at a press conference on Friday. Check back for a recap.
We welcome Aaron to the Royals!
