Sluggerrr's Birdhouse

One of the great things about the office is that you never who (or what) might show up.  We receive interesting items at the office from fans throughout the Midwest and the United States…for instance, someone recently sent Zack Greinke a surfboard, which Zack put at his locker in the clubhouse.  Yesterday we received a very special and unique gift, a Sluggerrr birdhouse.

The birdhouse featuring our lovable lion comes from Paul and Mildred Knodel of Colorado…they’ve done over 1,000 (our birdhouse has number 1,079 painted on the bottom).  The Knodels pass their craft on to friends and family.  They have donated over 500 of the birdhouses to Ronald McDonald House. 

Sluggerrr has the day off today after the humid homestand.  We know he will appreciate the birdhouse.  We’re waiting to see if he will allow Cardinals in his birdhouse.
