Trey Hillman Pregame Media Session
Thanks for the support
Many reporters were asking Manager Trey Hillman what he thought about Royals great George Brett coming to his defense with regards to the media slamming him for some of his managerial decisions. “I am very thankful that we have such passionate alumni and that I work in a very passionate baseball town,” Hillman said. Trey went on to say, “For George to show such support, not only for me but for our club, really says a lot, I truly enjoy his compassion.”
Looking good Kyle!
Kyle Farnsworth has now worked 10.0 scoreless innings in his last nine appeareances. So what can Manager Trey Hillman attribute this to?
“He’s just repeating his delivery better, that is basically it,” Hillman stated. He also went on to say that he is utilizing his four and two-seam fastballs, plus he isn’t leaving his sliders up as much. Trey also said there might be a different role down the road for Farnsworth if he continues to pitch at such a high level.
Joakim Soria played catch today for the first time, and everything seemed to go along as planned. He even said it felt really good, so there are no problems to report. He will continue to be monitored, evaluated, and eventually begin throwing off the mound. Mike Aviles is still day-to-day, they are going to turn up the pace starting today to see where he is at physically with his sore forearm.
