The Royals have placed shortstop Tony Pena, Jr. on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left hamate. Shortstop Luis Hernandez has been selected from the Omaha roster. Hernandez was batting .292 with 13 RBI at Omaha. He played for the Baltimore Orioles in 2007 and 2008, batting a combined .264 over 66 games.
