Bannister recalled from Omaha, Waechter to D.L.
The Royals have recalled right-handed pitcher Brian Bannister from Omaha (AAA) and placed right-handed pitcher Doug Waechter on the 15-day D.L. (retroactive to April 18) with a lateral strain in his right elbow. Bannister is scheduled to make the start for the Royals on Wednesday night in Cleveland against the Indians.
Bannister, 28, was 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA in three starts for Omaha. He recorded 7.0 shutout innings on April 14 at Round Rock and followed that up with 2.0 perfect innings Sunday at home against Albuquerque.
The 28-year old Waechter posted a 4.50 ERA in three relief outings for the Royals.
