Right-handed starter Brian Bannister has agreed to terms with the Royals for 2009, avoiding arbitration.
Brian struggled a bit in 2008, recording a 9-16 mark. He did establish career highs in starts (32), innings pitched (182.2) and strikeouts (113).
The signing leaves Mike Jacobs and Mark Teahen as the only unsigned players among arbitration-eligible Royals.
