It was said that Mike Jacobs hit 27 hr’s last year for the Marlins. Tom Verducci on mlb tv shorted Mike by 5. In reality the Royals picked the marlins pocket. This move will haunt the florida ream for years. Jacobs is too good to give away.

Mr. Moore,
I write to offer my help… only NOT for a job… but maybe to help save Dayton Moore’s. I know fellow GM Doug Melvin recently stated that smaller market teams are strapped and have a competitive disadvantage. However, the KC Royals have bulit a good nucleous of talent now under Moore and have the Glass family’s Wal-Mart money and need that final push to get back to a playoff-caliber team… so now is the time to act fast and sign C Ivan Rodriguez to handle the young pitchers and provide leadership. This worked in the late ’70s when KC brought in the late Darrell Porter and again in the early ’80s under Moore’s mentor when John Schuerholtz brought in another former TX all-star catcher Jim Sundberg. Pudge would do more to draw people in and make KC winners again (even if his hitting is off). Ken Griffey, Jr wouldn’t be bad either for DH. However, C Vance Wilson and OF Coco Crisp will not get it done. If KC does not win more this year… then I am done as a Royals fan. After nearly 25 years of no playoffs… I’m sure I am speaking for many.
