Help Royals Wives Feed the Hungry…

Food Drive.jpgIt’s that time of year again for the annual Royals Wives Food Drive at Kauffman Stadium!

This year’s Royals Wives Food Drive, which began in 1983 by former Royals pitcher Dan Quisenberry and his wife, Janie Quisenberry Stone, is set for Friday, May 30 when the Royals host the Cleveland Indians.

The wives will be out at Gates A and B of Kauffman Stadium from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., collecting “kid-friendly” non-perishable food items for Harvesters – the Community Food Network – and cash donations for St. James Place – a local food pantry and soup kitchen. They’ll be looking to collect items such as peanut butter and canned soups, pastas, and canned fruits and vegetables. Basically, your non-perishables that are hopefully NOT in glass containers (which are harder to transport!).

In conjunction with the food drive, Royals Wives will also hold a silent concourse auction the night before (Thursday, May 29) from 5:30-8 p.m. behind sections 101 and 102 at Kauffman Stadium. This event also benefits St. James Place…and will feature some great autographed Royals items for you to add to your collection.
