David Cook in Powder Blue at The K!
Visiting some Royals fans and associates, the Blue Springs, Mo., native stopped to take in the game from a press level suite…the same type of Kauffman Stadium suite, he said, that he use to clean as a seasonal employee for six years.
Yes, a lot has changed for the Royals employee-turned-“American Idol” finalist.
Cook, back in Kansas City for just the day, donned a blue Royals jersey with his name across the back and hit the field with Royals pitcher Brett Tomko to throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to Friday’s Royals-Orioles game. He then accepted a Royals jacket and a framed lineup card that stating he was the official “10th player” on the team from Manager Trey Hillman.
On Friday, the crowd of 21,873 – along with a news helicopter – helped us welcome Cook back to Kansas City. And, from all accounts we heard from Cook and his family, the “American Idol” finalist (who is still looking for your votes!), could not have been happier to be out in front of his hometown fans in the stadium where his hometown team plays!
