Saturday Ticket Sales at The K

Are you going out to Kauffman Stadium to buy single-game tickets this Saturday (March 8 at 9 a.m.)? We’ve got some news that you need to know…

With all the construction going on around The K, we have to alter the normal procedure for the first day of ticket sales.

For Saturday, March 8, fans will ONLY be allowed to enter the Truman Sports Complex through Gate 2, which is off of Blue Ridge Cutoff on the east side of the complex across from the Taco Bell. For those of you who don’t normally make a "run for the border" and typically enter the complex off of I-435, you should instead drive north on I-435 and take I-70 East to Blue Ridge Cutoff and down to Gate 2.

Gate 2 will open at 6 a.m. on Saturday. That’s right, no camping out will be allowed this year. Translation: You will be asked to leave the Truman Sports Complex if you are there on Friday, March 7.

On Saturday at 6 a.m., fans will be directed to park in Lot A and the ticket line will form at Gate B of Kauffman Stadium.

If you have trouble remembering all these numbers and letters, just remember to enter through Gate 2 at 6 a.m. Royals staff will be there bright and early to help direct you from there.

Also…remember that tickets are available for purchase online at royals.com, by phone at 1-800-6ROYALS or at metro-area Hy-Vee (NO Opening Day Tickets at Hy-Vee), which might be a more appealing option given that we heard temperatures will be in single digits Saturday morning…

Bannister_8793 Bannister Chat Reminder: The word from Spring Training is that pitcher Brian Bannister is geared up and ready for his afternoon chat today. The computer-savvy right-hander will log-on to answer your questions at 4 p.m. (CST) Tuesday, typing live from the Royals Spring Training complex in Surprise, Ariz. Just a reminder…to join the chat, you need to register here at royals.com.

Also…check out KC Star’s Bob Dutton’s article on Bannister if you get a chance. It describes Banny’s approach – in his own words – to his sophomore season with the Royals.
