In Addition to the Trade…

In the midst of all the trade deadline news around baseball Tuesday, the Royals actually made a couple of other announcements yesterday that might have slid under the radar. So, to catch you up…

ROYALS AND ENTERCOM AGREE TO FIVE-YEAR DEAL:  Next season, the Royals will enter into a five-year contract with Entercom for Royals on radio broadcasts.

The contract calls for the 162-game regular season and a minimum of 20 spring exhibitions to be carried on KCSP Radio 610 Sports, with the exception of Sunday games, which will air on News Radio KMBZ (980 AM). The agreement also calls for significant marketing and promotion on all of the Entercom-Kansas City stations, as well as Internet promotion, “themed” game days at the “K,” and appearances by local bands on “610 Saturdays.” Other Entercom-Kansas City stations include KMBZ-AM (980), KQRC-FM (98.9), KRBZ-FM (96.5), KUDL-FM (98.1), KXTR-AM (1660), KYYS-FM (99.7), WDAF-FM (106.5).

The final “T-Shirt Tuesday” of the season – a long-sleeve T-shirt – is Sept. 18 when the Royals host the Chicago White Sox. Just like last season, we are holding an on-line vote at for fans to let us know what design they would like to see on the final T-shirt promotion of the season. 0828_1There are four different designs to choose from and you have until Wednesday, Aug. 29 to cast your vote. So, get over to and cast your vote!

And, since we are talking about T-shirts, the next “T-Shirt Tuesday” is Aug. 28 when Detroit is in town. It’s a gray John Buck Jersey Tee, going to the first 20,000 fans and presented by Sprint Wireless.

i don’t the radio part because sports radio 810 the best

It’s a real shame that 810 WHB will no longer be the Royals’ radio partner. Over the past four years, WHB has provided unparalleled coverage of Kansas City Royals baseball, with outstanding pre- and post-game programming that really make listening to the Royals on Radio a true joy.
