Lineups: Denny in Cooperstown

UPDATE ON DENNY IN COOPERSTOWN: Due to a weather concern in Cooperstown, N.Y., Denny’s speech got bumped to the end of the ceremony. He’ll follow the two players – Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripkin, Jr. – getting inducted today.

Final game of the series/homestand this afternoon, 1:10 start. Royals recalled right-hander Leo Nunez from Triple-A Omaha prior to the game to step in as the starter.

Ban Johnson All-Stars: This morning, despite some early rain showers, the 2007 Ban Johnson League All-Star Game took place at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals have been hosting the annual game since 1969. Shortstop Bryan Moore, who represented the KC Blues, took home MVP honors after going 2-for-3 with an RBI in the sixth that broke a scoreless tie. He’ll be recognized on the field during the Royals pre-game ceremonies today. Congrats, Bryan!

REMINDER – Set the TIVO: The National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies begin at 12:30 p.m. (CT) and our very own Denny Matthews, will be presented with the Ford C. Frick Award shortly after. Since Denny is “leading off” the speeches, we expect him to take the stage in Cooperstown right around 1 p.m. Word is that we are going to try and broadcast Denny’s speech in the stadium following today’s game, during the Sprint Fun Run (weather permitting, of course).

Okay, every time Grud’s not in the lineup, I wonder about the trade issue.

I think the Royals would miss Grud’s veteran experience and leadership on the team, if he gets traded. Grud is a clutch hitter. But I wouldn’t mind to see Reggie Sanders, Emil Brown, and Mike Sweeney get traded. What an awsome weekend for the Royals and a terrific sweep a hot team like the Rangers. Let’s go get the Twins and those dreaded Yankees next. Go Royals!

i think octivo dotel should be traded and i think buddy bell didn’t put mark grudizanlex because he wanted him to start tommorrow night!

sweeny doesnt have much trade value at this point because of health issues but Dotel and Sanders could be packaged to the yankees for a starting pitching prospect, their bullpen is horrible in the 7th and 8th inning until they can get to Rivera, royals fans can drive up to Burlington Iowa to see the royals class A farm club we would love to see you
