Lineups: At The K on Thursday

Konichiwa!

Nearly 450 students and adults from Kurashiki, Japan – a Kansas City sister city – will be in attendance for tonight’s series finale against the New York Yankees. As reported by the Kansas City Star, the group arrived in Kansas City on Wednesday and will be here for a week, touring the art museums, attending a show at the Starlight Theatre, checking out a local rodeo, eating some KC BBQ and, of course, attending a Royals game! If you are out at the ballpark tonight, meander on over to their section – you probably won’t be able to miss them – and welcome them in true Kansas City fashion to our city! And, we’ll try to get some pictures of the group posted once they arrive.

Also in attendance for tonight’s game…the five firefighters who rushed into the burning buildings in the Waldo area (Kansas City, Mo.) earlier this year, risking their lives to save others. They are the Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat recipients for tonight, the first time all season we’ve honored more than one person in the seat for a game.

Oh, and don’t forget the checkbook if you are coming out here. The Royals Charities Silent Auction will be going on from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Just heard that we secured some Yankees items – such as Joe Torre and Johnny Damon autographed baseballs.

We’ve got DLR on the mound tonight against New York’s Kei Igawa – a true lefty-lefty match up. Here are your lineups…
