Fresh Start at Kauffman Stadium

We are 9-21 at home this season after going 5-13 at Kauffman in May.

Not the record we were hoping for in front of the home crowd to start the season. In an article in the KC Star today, reporter David Boyce touches on this fact and even quotes Teahen jokingly blaming the fountains.

Well, it turns out the grounds crew guys had their own theory as to the Royals’ home struggles and it has nothing to do with the water spectacular. Img_0160

Thursday morning with the team heading out of town for a seven-game road trip, they ripped up all the infield sod.Img_0163  In all honesty, replacing the grass is something that was scheduled prior to the recent homestand and happens a handful of times throughout the season. i have tickets for this saturdays game versus the tampa bay devil rays my purpose for seeing is this game is to see ross gload play he is a player that came from the town next to where i am from and i am wondering will he be at this game seeing that he has been on the dl. i would like to know if he is off the dl and is he traveling with the team. thank you.

What we need at the top of the lineup is speed. We have a guy in AAA, Joey Gathright….that same guy we traded JP Howell for. He has been doing a great job in the minors and it is time to call him up and bat him in the leadoff spot and play him in CF. Move David to LF and bat him 3, followed by Sweeney, Teahen, Shealy, Gordon, Grudz, Buck, Pena.

I agree about Gathright, I enjoyed watching him play last year, and he didn’t do that bad. He was/is the only guy on the team with speed. Couple that with the fact that he has been doing well in Omaha this season and I don’t see any reason not to.
