Fresh Start at Kauffman Stadium
We are 9-21 at home this season after going 5-13 at Kauffman in May.
Not the record we were hoping for in front of the home crowd to start the season. In an article in the KC Star today, reporter David Boyce touches on this fact and even quotes Teahen jokingly blaming the fountains.
Thursday morning with the team heading out of town for a seven-game road trip, they ripped up all the infield sod. In all honesty, replacing the grass is something that was scheduled prior to the recent homestand and happens a handful of times throughout the season. But, looking for a fresh start at home, we’ll chalk it up to this: new sod + new month = better results at Kauffman Stadium when the team returns home to face Philadelphia on June 8.
