Lineups: “School Day” and Hudson Back from D.L.
WARNING TO ROYALS FANS: Today is “School Day at the K.”
It all came rushing back when we pulled into a parking lot this morning that had more yellow school buses than we could count. This year’s event – in its ninth season – is rewriting the record books with more than 18,000 area kids, teachers and parents filling the lower bowl of Kauffman to watch a FOX 4 weather presentation before sticking around for the Royals afternoon game. So, for all you non-“School Day at the K” fans coming out to the game be prepared for a lot of high-pitch cheers, doing the wave at least three of four times per inning from the third inning on, a major shortage of cotton candy and an all-around fun day at the ballpark!
Meanwhile, Luke is back from the D.L. and takes the mound today against Oakland’s Joe Kennedy (0-2, 2.48 ERA). Here’s Hudson’s stats from his minor league rehab assignment:
- Wichita: Posted an 0-1 record with a 3.68 ERA (7.1 IP, 8 H, 3 ER) in two starts for the Wranglers. He issued just two walks while striking out 12.
- Omaha: Went 0-1 while posting a 5.00 ERA (9.0 IP, 11 H, 5 ER) in two starts, issuing four walks and striking out 14.
It’s the final day of the homestand – the longest of the season – but the energy is high from last night’s 3-2 win. Here are your lineups…
