Lineups: Grud's back

We open a three-game set with Detroit tonight, the third time the Royals (10-19) have seen the Tigers (16-11) this year. Kansas City carries a 2-4 record against the Tigers into the game, and the Royals are throwing Brian Bannister (0-1, 4.91 ERA) up against Detroit’s Justin Verlander (1-1, 2.79 ERA). Just in case you blocked out all your memories of Verlander, he’s 4-0 with a 1.36 ERA in his only four career starts against the Royals, including one already this year.
