Denny Wins Frick Award

Denny_testRoyals broadcaster Denny Matthews might miss a Royals game or two this July.
Unless, of course, he can figure out a way to broadcast from Cooperstown…

Denny has been named the recipient of the 2007 Ford C. Frick award and will be honored at the National Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies on July 29 in Cooperstown!

As the voice of the Royals since the organization’s start in 1969, Denny has been there for every step the franchise has taken and becomes the first Royals broadcaster to be a Ford C. Frick award recipient. Check out MLB’s coverage of the announcement and details of the induction ceremonies.

Congratulations, Denny!

Way to go Denny –

Since I got XM a few year’s back, I’ve had a chance to listen to a lot of other folks call baseball. None are as good as Denny and there’s no better team than Denny and Ryan, with a little Fred sprinkled in.

Congrats Denny! Well deserved and long overdue. You are truly a class act. Your voice is a welcomed sound in my home. Keep up the good work!
